Malaysia’s government extends visa-free travel to Indians for one year

Malaysia has abolished visa requirement for Indian leisure and business travelers for one year, starting December 1. The visa-free entry will continue until Dec 2024, as confirmed by the tourism ministry. This move is expected to boost annual inbound tourist arrivals from India by 30%-45%. Indian-origin travel operators in Malaysia anticipate surpassing the pre-pandemic figure of 7,35,309 Indian tourists in 2019. The MICE sector, strategic and affordable for business opportunities in the Asean region, is expected to see significant growth.
