Taiwan’s isolation deepens as ally Honduras switches to China

Honduran President Xiomara Castro announced that her government will seek to establish formal diplomatic relations with China, effectively ending ties with Taiwan and depriving the island of one of its few remaining allies. This move will make Taiwan have full diplomatic relations with 13 countries after losing Honduras.
