World Bipolar Day 2023: History, Theme and Significance

World Bipolar Day is observed annually on March 30 to raise awareness and eliminate the stigma associated with this life-long mental health condition affecting millions worldwide. Commonly known as manic-depressive illness, it is characterised by episodes of extreme mood swings, including mania or hypomania and depression. Various events and activities take place around the world to raise awareness about bipolar disorder, encourage advocacy and activism, and promote education and understanding of the condition.
