Zelenskiy says he will propose tougher corruption measures this week

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy plans to ask parliament to increase penalties for corruption during wartime, equating it with high treason. Zelenskiy believes that fighting corruption will not only help defeat Russia but also make it easier for international partners to support Ukraine's rebuilding efforts. Ukraine currently ranks 116th out of 180 countries on Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index.
